► A.2.3 The Vice-President [Welfare and Student Affairs]

A.2.3       The Vice-President [Welfare and Student Affairs] shall:

 

a)                  Be responsible for all matters relating to the development and provision of the Union’s welfare services;

b)                  Convene all campaigns concerning equal opportunities and welfare issues; and

c)                   Be responsible for all matters concerning ULU’s work on student development.

 

Welfare

               

i)              Be responsible for all academically related casework and all other individual cases which (s)he is in a position to undertake;

ii]             Be responsible for the Union’s equal opportunities policy and its development;

iii]            Be responsible for all media work specifically regarding issues of health and welfare;

iv]            Be responsible for all matters relating to accommodation and shall be the Union Council representative of Academic Committee and Intercollegiate Hall Committee; and

v]                                             To convene the ULU Welfare Officers’ Network.

 

Student Affairs

 

vii]                           Responsible for all matters concerning student development.

viii]          Responsible for the initiation, promotion and expansion of ULU’s student development work.

ix]            Produce and update a strategic plan for ULU’s student development work.

x]             Liaise with external organisations including the NUS and STADIA regarding all aspects of student development.

xi]                            Attend STADIA Conference.

xii)           Be responsible for matters related to educational issues and the representation of students.

 

Other

 

xiii]          Be responsible for all matters relating to the Accommodation Office and Careers Service and shall be the Union’s representative on all University committees regarding these services when university ordinances allow this.

xiv]           Shall in conjunction with the President and the General Manager, co-ordinate ULU training and Executive training.  Shall co-ordinate ULU campaigns team training.

 

The Vice-President [Welfare and Student Affairs] shall be empowered to act on matters related to the above Terms of Reference of a minor, non-contentious or urgent nature so long as well such actions are reported at the first opportunity to the appropriate body.
