12        Senior Treasurers and Returning Officer

 

12.1     The Senior Treasurer and Returning Officer must not be employees of, nor employed at the University with duties at the Union, nor be members of the Union under 3.2a). The Governance Committee shall advise Council on any conflict of interests. They shall be elected by the Union Council and serve for up to five years, and the appointment can be renewable.  They may resign at any time.

 

12.2     If there is a vacancy for the Senior Treasurers or Returning Officer an election will be held at the following meeting of the Union Council in accordance with Election Regulations.

 

12.3     The Senior Treasurers and Returning Officer shall be honorary members of the Union.
