QUEEN MARY COLLEGE
432 Bancroft RoadLondon E1 4DH T 020 7882 5390 F 020 8981 0802 www.qmsu.org ![]() The College itself has now been rated in the top 100 Colleges in the world and is steadily improving year upon year. Evenwith the national downturn of applications due to top up fees, QM’s application rate has once again risen for the 2006/07 academic term. We are the biggest campus University in Central London with 2000 students living on site. Queen Mary is one of the most culturally diverse campuses in the University of London and is represented by the vast range of societies we have on offer. We also have a large international student base which means we have one of the most truly multi cultural campuses in the UK. Currently, the Union is undergoing a massive redevelopment worth over £4 million. This involves the transferral of offices to a brand new Students’ Union building, the construction of a health and fitness centre and the entire redesign and rebuilding of Drapers, the Union Bar. This will turn it into a state of the art club and bar with a capacity of over 500. All these facilities are to be ready for Freshers’ Week 2007. Currently, we offer all sorts of different activities for our students. These range from a wide variety of club and bar nights right through to Provide, our Student Volunteering service, which last year enabled students to undertake well over 2000 hours of volunteering. Our sporting facilities are very good. Rugby and Football games are played at Chislehurst in South East London with very good quality pitches. More local facilities are available for other clubs, including two astro turf pitches five minutes walk from campus. The standard of our sports teams are also high, with Basketball finishing in the finals of the national BUSA championship, and Men’s football winning the ULU premier League twice in the last four years. Overall, Queen Mary, University of London is a great place to study, live and have a great time. If you’re ever in the East End of London and you need something to do, there will always be something going on around campus. Please get in contact if you have any further questions about the services we offer.
