► Donkey Derby

Welcome to the original University 'Donkey Derby' league! This league has been created from the need of re-housing pit ponies and donkeys from Cornwall's tin mines ... and follows a lengthy campaign from Unions across the country to SAVE DAISY!

The Jitsu Foundation
Welcome!!

Ju-jitsu is a defensive martial art which uses a dynamic system of strikes, locks and throws to subdue an opponent or attacker. Ju-jitsu is non-strength based and adopts the principle of using the attacker's strength and momentum against them. You do not need to be well-built for Ju-jitsu to work for you.
ULU Jitsu club was founded in 1995. The club has a good spread of grades and continues to enjoy success at the Nationals and Grading. ULU Jitsu club is co-ordinated and supervised by the Jitsu Foundation, which in turn is affiliated to the BJJA (British Ju-Jitsu Association), the governing body for Jiu-Jitsu in this country.
The club at ULU is made up of men and women of all shapes, ages and background and is a friendly and welcoming place to train. Senior grades regularly train with novices and help with thier teaching. Additionally the club is very social; a trip to the bar accompanies every session (afterwards of course) and there are numerous well-planned and some not so well-planned social events held regularly throughout the year. The fitst session is free, so why not came along and have a go? All sessions are held in the Energy Base Gym and all you need is some loose clothing (trackuit bottoms and an old t-shirt are ideal).

If you would like more information about the club then please email our club captain
Imogen Daughtery.
