 Health and Fitness - Energybase

Job Title: Casual Energy Base Receptionist
Purpose of Job: Ensuring that visitors to ULU are dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. General duties will include; serving customers, dealing with enquiries, answering telephone, cash handling, till operation, and provision of excellent service in accordance with the duties of the job.  Energy Base receptionists will also be responsible for controlling entry and exit to the club.  Opening times vary according to the operating schedule, earliest start being 7:15am, latest finish being 10:15pm.

Job Title: Casual Lifeguard
Purpose of Job: To provide a safe environment in Energy Base.  Ensuring users of the facilities adhere to safety rules and to respond quickly and professionally to any situation that may arise in the swimming pool and Energy base area.  General duties will include; safety monitoring, maintaining a clean environment in the swimming pool and changing room areas.  RLSS qualification is essential for this role.  Shift times are general 4 hour time slots varying from 7am to 10:30pm Monday to Sunday.

Retail

Job Title: Retail Associate
Purpose of Job: Ensuring that visitors to retail outlets are dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. General duties will include; serving customers, cash handling, till operation, stocking shelves, stock rotation and provision of excellent service in accordance with the duties of the job.  There are 3 retail outlets at ULU; Student Shop (General stationery and clothing shop) Print Centre (photocopying shop) and the Lunchbox Cafe (Sandwich/coffee shop).  Opening times vary according to the outlet, but in general they are open from 8am to 8pm.

Conference and Operations

Job Title: Casual Conference and Operations Steward
Purpose of Job: Post holders will be responsible for setting up conference and meeting rooms for internal and external customers of ULU’s facilities.  Duties will also include door security in the evenings, evacuation marshalling, cleaning and clearing up, cloakroom duties and helping other departments during busy periods.  Applicants must be available to work Friday and Saturday nights, but work will also be available Sunday to Thursday.

Job Title: Bar Associate
Purpose of Job: ULU Bar Assistants are responsible for assisting in the smooth running of the bar services.  Duties include serving drinks, cash handling, clearing and cleaning duties.  All Bar Assistants must be available to work either a Friday or Saturday night each week.  ULU has 4 bars, The Duck & Dive, Room 101, The Gallery Bar and Birkbeck bar.  Bar’s are open from Monday to Thursday 11am to 11pm; Friday and Saturday from 11am to 1am and on Sundays. from 12noon to 10.30 pm
 
Job Title: Food and Beverage Associate
Purpose of Job: To assist the catering department in all duties ensuring that key targets and quality standards set are implemented.  Duties include serving food, food preparation and some cooking duties, cash handling, clearing and cleaning duties.  Shifts vary from 3 hours to 8 hours.  There are 3 Catering outlets at ULU, The Gallery, Duck & Dive and the Conference facilities.
