LONDON STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD - NOMINATION PERIOD EXTENDED! Who is going to win the £2,000 this year? So what is it?Waterstone's London Student of the Year is awarded to a person who: a. has performed outstandingly in their studies this year and done their bit in making University life better for everyone; or b. has overcome personal difficulties and still gone on to achieve academic excellence.

This year’s Laurels Awards have been merged with Society Shields, making Laurels 2007 bigger and more prestigious than ever before!
The Awards ceremony is the highlight of the Union’s year and celebrates the achievements and commitment of ULU members.
Do you know someone who has made a difference to you and your fellow students’ lives at University? Someone who has shown notable and continued commitment to their Students’ Union, Union Council, Club or Society? Someone who has battled against adversity to succeed in their studies?
A number of the awards have prize money attached to them. The winner of the Waterstone’s London Student of the Year Award will be awarded £2000 in prize money.
If so, this is your chance to recognise their achievements by nominating them for one of the awards at ULU Laurels. Nominations open on Monday 12th March and close on Friday 30th March. The awards ceremony will take place at ULU on Wednesday evening 9th May.
