WHAT ELSE DOES ULU SPORTS OFFER?
The ULU LeaguesAs well as all the other Sports and Activities that you can join in with, ULU also run a number of Inter-Collegiate Leagues and Tournaments. In the 2006/07 year, there will be 38 leagues varying from Waterpolo to nine different Football leagues and 22 tournaments – which run through the Easter term. We have also run a couple of oneday tournaments; including indoor Cricket, and we are always looking to expand the programme. The ULU finals days are always well attended and are a fun day out, whether playing or not! If you are interested in participating then you should contact you college Sport’s Officer or Administrator. We have leagues of all standards. In 2005/06 the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) won the overall Inter-collegiate Championship! Sports Development Days ULU run development days throughout the year where any UL student can sign up to learn more about their sport through these FREE coaching sessions! Come with your team mates or by yourself, you don’t even need to be a member of a ULU club to come along! Free Refereeing and Umpiring Courses PWC Evolution, run in conjunction with Price Waterhouse Coopers, is a programme of Refereeing and Umpiring Courses for University of London Students. Free courses are offered in Hockey, Rugby, Football, Netball and Basketball; and the scheme is expanding to include coaching courses! They are a great way of gaining a qualification, learning more about your sport, and maybe even earning some extra cash! Also if you are interested in doing a course in a sport that ULU does not offer, then ULU can help finance you to do it! Just contact the Sports Development Officer at [email protected].
