Old Medical College BuildingTurner Street, Whitechapel London E1 2AD Why is Barts and The London the best student association? We hoped that everybody already knew. But let us refresh your memory. First of all, BL has 2 student union bars: one behind Bart’s hospital (the oldest hospital in the land) and one behind The Royal London (the oldest medical school in the land). These can be transformed into Caribbean beaches, school discos, naughty nurse dwellings, comedy clubs, burlesque houses and of course a place where you can feel comfortable in a toga and sipping tequila.  But we’re more than just a bar! We’ve got the ER (Eating Room) which serves all the medical and dental students at The London, we have a clubs’ resource room, we have a computer lab, a mixed common room, two meeting rooms, a band rehearsal room, a swimming pool that is free to students at all times and, most importantly, possibly the most expensive toilets in the world!But it’s not the buildings, computers, food, drink, music, dancing, comedy and freedom to urinate in luxury that make BL great. It’s not even the head of the bar that has been there since before most of the students were born and the staff that keep the association alive ... It’s the students that make BL the greatest student association in the world! It’s the students that raise the most money through RAG in London for charity every year (over £139,000!). It’s the students that run and take part in more than 40 clubs and societies giving BL one of the highest percentage of student involvement and it’s the students that make us the friendliest and funnest place to be! |
