► Organising an event at ULU

Room Hire

Our conference facilities consist of two halls and eleven seminar rooms.  The rooms range in size - from a boardoom for 6 to a party space for 600 - and we can provide a variety of different room layouts.

The Venue is a modern and functional hall, which can accommodate both conferences and events.  The hall is air-conditioned and soundproofed.  Conference hire includes the front of the stage, which can accommodate a top table for up to eight people.  Also included is The Venue Foyer which has a bar setting for up to 80 people, making it a perfect venue for refreshment breaks.  Tables for registration and stallholders may also be set up in this area.

The Upper Hall is a brightly-lit space, particularly suitable for display and exhibition usage, in addition to large meetings and rehersal space.  There is a rectangle stage, which can accommodate up to six people on a top table.

All of our second and third floor seminar rooms are air-conditioned, feature blackout facilities and integral whiteboards.  Two of the rooms (3C and 3D) are seperated by a purpose built partition that can be opened to create one large space.

Disabled Access

All the rooms are wheelchair accessible apart from the Malet Suite and the balcony to The Venue.  A lift is available to all floors and disabled toilets are situated on the ground, first, second and fourth floors.  A wheelchair ramp leads to ULU's main entrance.

Conference Room Charges

Rooms can be booked between 9am and 10pm all week.  The half day charge is the minimum payable and covers up to four hours.  For a hire period between four and eight hours, the full day charge is payable.  For bookings that go beyond eight hours, a charge will be made for each additional hour.  The costs do not include catering services, technical equipment or staff.  Please see the catering and technical services pages for more information on what is available.

Parties and Receptions

The prices quoted in the Conference Brochure are for private events only.  If you are planning a public event (i.e. you will be advertising and/or selling tickets to the public) then you will require our Public Events Licence.  The costs for this type of eventvary depending on the number of people attending.  For further information please contact the Conference Office on 020 7664 2021.

Information for organisers

Before booking a room at ULU, please take a look at our Booking Policy.

Once a room booking has been confirmed, we will send details of our fire evacuaiton procedures and a guide to the building.  This information should be passed on to the organiser/course leader who will be running the event on the day.  Our conference staff will be the main point of contact on the day, but when we are not available (late evening and Sundays) the Duty Officer will be the main contact.
