University life isn't always plain sailing. Nightline was founded to give an impartial listening ear to students, matter how big or small the issue.
Chat, cry, or just find the number for a library or takeaway. Nightline helps over 5000 students a year and listens without judging or lecturing. Through the night, throughout the term, we'll talk through whatever's on your mind.

The Service
London Nightline has offered a telephone helpline, and now an email service, to students in London since 1971.
We receive thousands of calls each year from students, like you, from all over the city, who are looking for information or just someone to talk to. Our calls are about anything including academic work, relationship, health and depression.
Nightline is based at the University of London Union (ULU), but we are an independent charity, funded by colleges, universities and student unions in the London area. Our activities are overseen by a full-time co-ordinator and board of trustees, who all have experience in the higher education field.

Volunteering
Are you a good listener? Can you commit to just 3 nights term helping other students in London?
As a volunteer for London nightline, you will receive comprehensive training in listening and helpline skills, plus continuous support from other volunteers and trained support staff. All we ask is that you are non-judgemental, empathetic and can adapt to the vast variety of calls we receive.
If this sounds like something YOU can do, come along to our introductory session in ULU on the 4th of October, and complete an online application form to register your interest at www.nightline.org.uk |
