► A.2.4 The Vice-President [Sports and Societies]

A.2.4       The Vice-President [Sports and Societies] shall:

 

a)                  Be responsible for all matters related to the provision and development of the Union’s internal and external Sports provision, in consultation with the Sports and Societies Committee.

b)                  Work closely with the members of staff associated with Sport, Societies and Recreation within ULU.

c)                   Be responsible for all relations with the University on matters related to Sports and Societies and the Union’s Sports and Societies provision including their financing.

d)                  Report on all relevant Sports, Societies and Networks Committees and generally help the members of the Sports and Societies Committee in any way possible.

e)                  Liaise with Sports Officers and Societies Officers from all constituent colleges on a regular basis;

f)                    Shall be responsible for all matters related to networks in consultation with the Sports and Societies Committee.

g)                  Shall be responsible for all matters related to societies in consultation with the Sports and Societies Committee.

h)                  Shall report on all relevant Societies Committees and in general help the members of the Societies Committees in any way possible.

 

Sports

 

i)                    Shall attend all meetings of the Sports Committee and its Executive and shall help all fully or provisionally recognised clubs in any way possible.

ii)                   Shall attend and/or chair all relevant Sports Committees.

iii)                 Shall oversee the co-ordination of all the UL Intercollegiate Leagues.

iv)                  Shall have overall responsibility for the provision of external sporting facilities and shall encourage the development of these facilities and investigate financing thereof.

 

External Representation of Sports

 

v)                   Shall represent the views of ULU on National Sports Committees.

vi)                  Shall play a full and active role in BUSA London Division and in liaising with BUSA and the UL Colleges.

vii)                Shall be the Student voice on all Sporting matters.

viii)               Shall work in conjunction with the Sports Editor of the London Student for the coverage of University Sport.

 

Recreation

 

ix)                  Shall have overall responsibility for the provision of recreational facilities within ULU.

x)                   Shall encourage the development of these facilities and investigate financing thereof.

 

Societies

 

xi)                  Shall attend all meetings of the Societies Committee and its Executive and shall help all full or provisionally recognised societies in any way possible.

xii)                Shall attend and/or chair all relevant Societies Committees.

xiii)               Shall have overall responsibility for the provision of external Societies facilities and shall encourage the development of these facilities and investigate financing thereof.

 

Networks

 

xiv)               Shall attend all meetings of the Networks Committee and its executive and shall help all recognised networks in any way possible.

xv)                 Shall attend and/or chair all relevant Network Committees

xvi)               Shall encourage the development of networks.

 

Other

 

xvii)              Shall assist the Vice-President [Finance Services and Operations] in the organisation of the “Roadshow” and the annual ULU Fresher’s Fayre.

xviii)            Shall work in conjunction with the Vice-President (Finance and Societies) in the co-ordination and co-operation of the Sports & Societies Committee.

 

The Vice-President [Sports and Societies] shall be empowered to act on matters related to the above Terms of Reference of a minor, non-contentious nature so long as all such actions are reported at the first opportunity to the appropriate body.
