TO TIDY UP REGULATIONS

THIS UNION NOTES

 

1.          That it is important for the regulations of the Union to be up to date and consistent.

2.          A number of inconsistencies have arisen over the years

 

THIS UNION RESOLVES

 

1.          To remove from the regulations to right of Sabbatical Officers to receive cost price food and alcohol under A.5.

2.          To move Parts ‘G’ (Laurels Committee) and ‘I’ (Governance Committee) to under Part D (Standing and Sub-Committees of ULU and conduct of Meetings of Union Council Standing and Sub-Committees).

3.          To remove the reference under Part H to the London Student Editor being elected by Electoral Council.

4.          Rename Part D “Standing and Sub-Committees of ULU” rather than “Standing and Sub-Committees of ULU and conduct of Meetings of Union Council Standing and Sub-Committees).

5.          To change E.11.D such that a policy lapsing after 5 years can be reinstated by a simple majority rather than a two-thirds majority.

6.          To mandate the Governance Committee to propose the necessary changes to the Constitution under 16.1.

7.          To mandate Governance Committee to review the membership of the Union under 3 in the constitution with respect to current practice and the Education Act 1994.

8.          To make such changes to the numbering as necessary.
