ULU

► Target Rifle

If you want a sport where men and women, able and disabled people can compete along side each other against teams from the other side of the world without having to leave London, then shooting is for you. Target shooting is an exercise in precise marksmanship rather than brute force or high activity. It requires patience, accuracy, thought, and complete physical and mental control almost to the point of meditation.

There are two sides to ULRC, we shoot a discipline called ’small-bore’ in the winter and ‘full-bore’ in the summer.

Small-bore is shot in the .22 calibre, typically at ranges of 25 or 50 yards. We shoot small-bore every Saturday in the winter.

Full-bore is shot at longer ranges, typically between 300 and 100 yards, with a larger calibre rifle and appropriate ammuntiton. We shoot full-bore in the warmer months at the National Shooting Centre in Bisley, Surrey.
