► A.1.5 The Racial Equality Officer

A.1.5       The Racial Equality Officer shall:

 

i)                    Be responsible for all those areas of ULU business which specifically relate to ethnic minorities, and organise relevant educational and training events and briefings,

ii]             Represent ULU to other anti-racism organisations and liaise with the NUS anti-racism campaign,

 

iii)            Produce or update a handbook for students and officers within the University of London concerned with fighting racism and other issues which specifically relate to students from ethnic minorities and overseas students,

iv)            Liaise with the appropriate Sabbatical and advise the Executive on those issues that specifically relate to Racism,

v)                   Carry out such duties as may from time to time be laid down by the Union Council or the Executive or as determined on an annual basis at Executive Training,

vi)                  Liaise with other relevant officers and groups within UL Collegiate Unions, forming an ‘officer network’ which shall endeavour (in addition to email/phone contact) to meet at least once per term,

vii)                Make verbal reports to each meeting of the Executive, where applicable this shall include a report from the relevant ‘officer network’,

Produce for their successor, an informative hand-over pack, which shall include all relevant contact.
