► Disaffiliation from the Mature Students Union
Disaffiliation from the Mature Students Union
This Union Notes
-
That ULU affiliated to the MSU at Third Council in January 2003 at a cost of £100 per annum.
This Union Believes
-
That the MSU has collapsed since the resignation of the MSU National President, Alan Coleman, earlier in 2004.
-
That continued affiliation to the MSU, with associated affiliation fee, would be a waste of Union funds.
This Union Further Notes
-
That ULU has not received an invoice requesting an affiliation fee for 2004-05 to date.
-
That the Vice-President Finance, Services & Operations has tried to make communication with the National Secretary and National Treasurer of the MSU, without success.
This Union Resolves
-
To immediately disaffiliate from the MSU.
-
To continue to try to make communication with a member of the MSU National Executive to establish the current state-of-play of the MSU.
This Union Further Resolves
1. To work with other mature students organisations and representatives, including the NUS Mature Students National Committee to ensure ULU continues to represent mature students.
