‘NETWORKS’ MOTION

Proposed by: Claire Wren, [ULU V-P Finance & Societies]

Seconded by: James MacColl, [ULU V-P Welfare & Student Affairs]

 

THIS UNION BELIEVES

 

1.          ULU Societies have not always been administered in a way that best fits the individual society needs; and,

2.          The creation of a third category of student activity, networks, would help address the differing nature of ULU Societies.

 

THIS UNION NOTES

 

1.          There has been a long process of consultation with individual societies, Societies Committee, Sports and Societies Committee and Council as to how the creation of networks would be best implemented for the effective running of a third type of student activity.

 

THIS UNION RESOLVES

 

1.          Create a third form of Student Activity know as Networks;

2.          To create as a sub-committee of Sports and Societies Committee ‘Networks Committee’ that would have three representatives on Sports and Societies Committee;

3.          To include in the Vice-President (Sports (and Societies)) job description responsibility for the networks; and

4.          To regulate networks as stated in the appended & amended F.2.
