Shorinji Kempo is an ideal vehicle for any student wishing to expand their cultural awareness, become physically healthier, learn a diverse and modern philosophy and become proficient in an extremely practical self defence.
Shorinji Kempo is a Japanese, non-competitive martial art: based on ancient Chinese techniques with its roots in the teachings of Zen Buddhism. This discipline incorporates self-defence, philosophy, meditation and healing massage, brought together by very high standards of teaching.
Kenshi are encouraged to take training at their own pace although it is possible to train seven days a week at various university venues in central London. The costs of training are minimal, the World Shorinji Kempo Federation is a non-profit making organisation. As a club we indulge in training excursions across the UK and occasionally as far as Japan. Come along to watch or try - your first four sessions are free!
