The principal aim of the Mountaineering Club is to provide opportunities for climbing and hill walking on weekend trips to mountain areas. We also meet for weekly indoor climbing at the Mile End Wall on Tuesday evenings and social meetings on Thursdays in ULU and in various pubs and restaurants around London.
Day climbs and walks have been held at weekends. Climbs take place on Southern Sandstone in the Tunbridge Wells area and walks have been in all directions around London from the Chilterns to the north, North Downs to the south and Essex to the east.
Full weekend trips take place further afield in the Lake District, Snowdonia, the Peak District and the North York Moors.
