The Royal Veterinary College, founded in 1791, currently has approximately 1700 students on an ever expanding variety of Veterinary based programmes. Ranging from those courses heavily research-orientated such as the Veterinary Scientists and PhDs, all the way to the Nurses and Surgeons; the RVC is the country's first, largest (and only self-governing) veterinary school.
The College has two main campuses; one on Royal College Street, based in the culturally explosive, vibrantly restless, punk heart of the Capital that is Camden Town. Home to The Camden Palace (KOKO), The Pride Galleries, The Jazz Cafe and The Roundhouse (to name just a few on the impressive list of venues), and of course the Lock, Market, bands, artists and celebs that occupy themÉthis is a great contrast to that of the second site, Hawkshead.
A country estate and farm situated on the edge of South Mimms in the tranquil Hertfordshire countryside, acquired by the College in 1955, it lies just outside Potters Bar, home to the majority of our Veterinary Nurses, various Research and Post Grad' students, as well as the Surgeons that venture out of The City and into the sticks for their clinical years
The students of this institution pride themselves on the motto 'Work Hard, Play Harder' and take their 'play' time very seriously. Whether in the bar or on the sports field, or perhaps just around London, we look forward to seeing you this year!
