Goldsmiths is situated in South East London, and though on the surface it may not be Mum's first choice for you to spend your university life, don’t be fooled!!! New Cross may sport a rather coarse exterior, but it actually masks some charming cafes, markets and pubs and also a thriving arts and music scene. Our halls of residence are minutes away from campus which means there is a close knit community around Goldsmiths and New Cross. Goldsmiths is a part of a vibrant, creative and diverse community in an exciting up-and-coming area of London. In short if you want overpriced gastro pubs and an ‘impressive’ postcode don’t come to New Cross.”

Whatever you’re into, whether it’s clubbing until the early morn or watching quality live music, Goldsmiths Students’ Union has it! It is imperative that each London student joins the weekly Wednesday pilgrimage to Club sandwich at least once during the year. Catering for every taste from electro to r’n’b, from indie to pop. We also offer a wide range of live music, with past performances from acts such as Metronomy, Pendulum and Graham Coxon. Basically if you like good music, you know where to come!

Goldsmiths Students’ Union leads the field in it’s commitment to tackling ethical and environmental issues. These issues have been at the forefront of our campaigning activity for a number of years and are so important to us that this year we’ve embedded them in our business plan! In recognition of our achievements we were awarded one of three Gold Sound Impact Awards in 2006, received another sound impact in 08 and were the winners of the Lewisham Community Business Award for Environmental Excellence in 2005.

Whilst working extensively on a wide breadth of campaigning activity throughout the year, with student involvement driving the agenda, the student-officer team will be campaigning hard in regards to education funding.
