Eiffel TowerThe University of London Institute in Paris, formerly the British Institute in Paris, was founded in 1894 as the Franco-British Guild.

The Institute trains professional translators of French and English and English language teachers to Certificate, Diploma and MA level. It publishes an academic journal, Franco-British Studies and offers a BA Honours course in French Studies, leading to a University of London degree taken entirely in Paris.

At MA level it specialises in Contemporary French Studies as well as translation and foreign language teaching. A range of specialised diplomas in English and French are awarded under the aegis of the University of London.
